Fashion News

A few companies have been catching my eye recently, and I've gotten some interesting pieces come into my email inbox recently.

Libby London:

Although I'm still on the job hunt, I've been more excited to put together a fun work wardrobe. I noticed a lack of cute work wear pieces, but luckily, I found out about Libby London. Launched by Libby Hart, it consists of really chic dresses, that are perfect to wear to work, and can even be worn if you're going out after. Libby wanted to create a timeless work wear line for women, that had pieces that are both stylish and appropriate for work.
The shirt dress is one of the key pieces, and is 100% silk, and all the dresses are designed to flatter any silhouette, and are bound to add bundles of confidence.

This year will also see the introduction of pencil skirts and silk shirts to the collection. The aim of the line is to make it a lot easier for for women to dress for work in the morning, and keep them looking good for whatever the work day sends their way.

Miss Sixty:
One of the British high street's biggest names, Miss Sixty, who do some great pieces, are launching an exclusive new collection for Harrods. It will consist of 3 high fashion pieces, with there only being 5 of each design. The 3 pieces look absolutely gorgeous and are made of amazing quality.

As you can see, the dresses are completely wearable, and so pretty. I especially LOVE the black one. All the dresses look really stylish and would be so much fun to wear.

Scaline London:
I've just discovered a new brand that has some gorgeous pieces: Scaline London. I love discovering new brands, and Scaline London specialises in clothes that are both luxurious and super comfortable. The collection is 100% made in the UK and used the finest natural wool and cotton. It is all about both comfort and style, and I love it when the two collide.

Again, the pieces look so wearable, and the look book images are all so pretty. I definitely recommend you heading over to the website ans going through all the pretty pictures. The look on the right is definitely one of my all time favourite looks! I can wait for summer, so I can take inspiration from it.

Farther and Sun
I've also just discovered a great new philanthropic brand: Farther and Sun, (launching later this year) who, for ever pair of sunglasses they sell, will have a prescription pair fitted and sent to a developing country. Founder, John Pritchard, believes that everyone has the right to see, and all this will take place with a collaboration with UK Charity, Vision Aid Overseas. I think this is an amazing idea. I'm a glasses wearer myself, and can understand how hard and frustrating life is when I don't have my glasses, or contacts, with me.
Last night, Central Saint Martins College held a competition for 2nd year students to create a collections and one of the winning designs will be used as inspiration for the launch collection.

The Kooples:
One of my favourite brands, The Kooples, (I'm lusting after one of their skinny jeans) have just launched a new sportswear line, featuring a personal sporting hero of mine: Eric Cantona, with his wife. The collection itself is gorgeous, and even makes me want to start working out properly. I love how cool and casual the line is, and I love the pastel orange top featured below. What I love is that the whole sports line has pieces not just limited to sports. You can wear them out and about as well, and still look really chic.

The Kooples have also just launched a collaboration with Pete Doherty. I've seen some images from it, but can't wait to see it properly, and in store!
You can also find the collection in a corner of the Mens Department in Selfridges, London!

I also have a really interesting story about what paint brand, Dulux, got up to during Fashion Week. They turned London into a catwalk, and had 8 gorgeous, 60's inspired, models, wearing bright Dulux colours, walking around, each with an adorable 'Dulux Dog' (I want one!). This was in honour of Dulux being named a top 10 Superbrand.
