As you probably know by now, I love LBD's. They are such a staple wardrobe piece and every girl deserves the prettiest one they see as well as a wonderful statement one.
I recently found out about Black Nouveau Dresses, designed by Alex Van Baalen, and the amazing LBD's he does. Each one looks so unique and is definitely an ultimate LBD.
Alex has spent years working for different designers, in both London and New York, and finally decided to launch his own Collection, during LFW, after starting the label six month ago. He wanted to create beautiful black dresses that were feminine and glamorous. He was heavily influenced by both the 1950's and one of his heroes, YSL, and you can clearly see these influences in the collection.
His aim is to have have classic dresses that can be passed down through generations, as well as be shared between sisters and friends. The dresses are made from the finest and most luxurious silks and the collection includes hand-applied beading and contemporary textures.
And eventually, he'd like a whole collection of black tailored and casual pieces, such as jacket, shoes and even accessories. I'm a huge fan of wearing black, so am really looking forward to Alex creating all those different black essentials.
Right now, the collection is only available of the website, so definitely have a look online: the dresses are seriously all so amazing and gorgeous. Here are some of my favourites from the collection:
The Elizabeth and The Bette:
The Grace and The Greta:
The Hayworth (My Personal Favourite) and The Garbo:
Sherin xx
