Inspired by...

I'll be honest, it doesn't take a lot to inspire me. My inspirations folder is packed with all sorts of random pictures, especially these days: I go crazy when I'm bored, so I prowl the internet for hours on end until I find something to do.

One thing I came across was this nail tutorial, on getting marble style nails, and decided to give it a shot.

Now, I'm not a creative all, and I've never attempted any kind of nail art on myself before either, so this was always going to be a disaster in the making lol.

I first poured my two colours in water and mixed them. (I used a glass, but you'll be better off using something more disposable). The two colours I used were Grey and Mint Green, both from Barry M. The great thing is you can use any colours and as many as you like.

I then dipped my finger into the water, one at a time, and then waited forever for my nails to dry.
The mess at this stage was immense. I couldn't touch anything, as the nail polish was all over my hands and fingertips, so I sat there, bored, until they dried.

When I was sure that my nails were dry, I had to get nail polish remover, to get rid off all the excess polish. This took ages as my hands were pretty much covered. I decided to use a Q-tip instead of cotton wool, because I found with cotton wool that it took a bit of the polish off my nails as well.

And voila, I was done:

Although, they could have come out better, I was quite impressed at my first attempt. Yay: go me!!

It was easier than I thought it'd be, although, I'll admit, my attempt was very very very messy. My one advice would be that have someone else do it for you. It was really hard to take off the excess polish and my nails were dripping all over the place: my table was quite a sight.

I was also very inspired by this picture that I found on Lovelyish a while back and I had to try it for myself.

I've never been very bold or experimentative with my make up, so have never worn yellow eyeshadow out and about.

Heres my attempt:

I used Yaby Yellow eyeshadow, liquid NYC eyeliner and Benefit Mascara. (It's impossible to take pictures of your own eye!!)

What do you think of these? Will you be trying any of them??

Amazing! I absolutely adore the marbled nails- I will *definitely* be trying this out! I get nail polish all over everything anyway, so I might as well- can't be any messier, right?!
I'm thinking of trying pink with pale blue...
