Fashion News: 22/08/2010

So, more of a news-y post instead of the usual Sunday Specials: Enjoy!

Timberland have just launched a new ecological pair of frames, the Timberland Earthkeepers. They are made from plastic, derived from plant oil, and the temples made from bamboo, meaning they're 100% from natural, sustainable sources.
They've collaborated with Marcolin and are involved in promoting eco sustainability as a fundamental value and global approach, by using recycled, renewable and organic materials. The sunglasses, propsed in tortoise shell and black shades, fit in perfectly with the clean and minimalistic style of the brand, and each comes with an Earthkeepers logo on it's metal plaque.

Prices are £123 for a pair and the ophthalmics are £131 and they'll go on sale at all leading opticians, from May.

Also, Dannii Minogue has launched a new dress range, Project D, alongside London designer, Tabitha Somerset Webb. The AW collection has just launched and their new Holiday collection will launch on October 1st. Dannii, who has won an Elle Style Award, created this ready-to-wear line, which is inspired by her unique style and Tabitha's flair for design.
The first capsule collection feature gorgeous dresses that can eaily take a woman from day to evening. The collection features chic coctail dresses and flowing georgette and silk dresses.

Dannii wants women who wear Project D to feel confident and glamorous with all the detailing being perfect, making them easy to wear.
The dresses for this holiday season are sophisticated, with a rock' n' roll edge and really capture the seasonal mood with names such as Prancer and Tinsel.
Below are the gorgeous Comet and Cracker dresses. I think the one shoulder style definitely gives it a very elegant and glamorous feel to it.

And heres something to fulfill my shoe obsession: Selfridges are launching the world's biggest destination for shoes: The Shoe Galleries. In honour of this, Selfridges are hosting an amazing competition for the chance to win a years supply of shoes from Selfridges (heaven!!)
All you have to do is share your shoe stories. To enter, visit the Competition page and write a few sentences about your favourite pair and upload a picture of yourself or the shoes.

Also, Be&D are helping you with all your festival needs with their very stylish shoes and accessories from their AW2010 collection. They seriously are perfect for any festival. (I still wish I was going to Reading!! Oh well, my mission is to go next year. )

And as you know, HiFashion loves a good ethical fashion company, so I think you can imagine my delight when I discovered Project Migration, which is a newly launched, charity focused fashion line. They've already got a great following, with names such as Sting, Paris Hilton and Seann William Scott promoting and wearing the line.
The t-shirts are really fashion forward and really wearable. They do look really really cool and  it's for such a great cause. Each Project Migration shirt sold supplies a single mother in Africa with 1 (from their Basic Line) or 5 (from their Premium Line) years off clean water and life-saving medical supplies. It's clearly stated on the tags and backs of t-shirts the mission and cause, proving that lives really are being saved when you buy a t-shirt.

You can check out their products at their online store. (I personally love the bracelets!!)

Hope you all have a fun Sunday!

Sherin xx
