In January, Leia and I are going to go the annual International Make Up Artists Trade Show (IMATS). IMATS is known as the make-up world's biggest gathering! We've got Press Passes for their show in London (the venue is literally a few minutes away from where I live) and we honestly can't wait. We both love make up and are really looking forward to some of the great make up that comes out of IMATS.

The London show will take place on Saturday January 30th (8.30am-5pm) and Sunday January 31st (10am-5pm) 2010, at Alexandra Palace. If you are around in London that weekend, definitely drop by and have a look at whats going on. We'd love to see you there. Prices range from £28-£65.
Don't worry if you're not in London then, they're also doing shows in Vancouver (April 17-18 2010) and Los Angeles (June 26-27 2010), as well as already doing shows in Sydney and Toronto.

The show in London is set to be a blast. Special guests include Terry Barber, M.A.C Cosmetics' director of make up artistry. I am really looking forward to bumping into him, as a) he works for one of the best make up companies in the world and b) he's collaborated with the likes of Alexander McQueen.
Other special guests nclude: Bill Corso, who's worked with Jim Carey on many movies, such as Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events along with a lot of other high profile movies, and Tom Savini, who has worked on movies such as Dawn of the Dead and Friday the 13th. I am also excited to add that Corso is an Oscar®- and Emmy® award-winning artist.

I really can't wait to see what else is lined up for the show. Heres some more information about it from their press release:

IMATS also features an exhibitor hall, where more than 50 cosmetics companies in 100 booths will unveil new products and tools and offer discounts on old favorites. Industry leaders will teach workshops, do live demonstrations and show their work in the Make-up Museum.
And students will race against the clock to create winning looks in the student make-up competition, which is divided into beauty and character categories. This year’s beauty competition has an Alice in Wonderland theme; the character competition has a Grimm’s Fairy Tales theme.

Make-Up Artist magazine, which produces IMATS, is read in 50 countries around the world and was created in 1996 by Emmy Award®-winning make-up artist Michael Key. IMATS is held five times annually: in London in January; Vancouver, B.C. in April; Los Angeles in June; Sydney in September and Toronto in November.

To arrange advance or onsite interviews and photos with speakers, contact Managing Editor Heather Wisner at 360-882-3488, ext, 106. For tickets and more information, visit or call at 360-882-3488, ext. 101.

IMATS is held all around the world, so check if your city is one of the 5 to hold one and definitely get yourself down there. It looks set to be so much fun!

I'm excited for you. I actually quite enjoy watching people apply makeup. There's something really cute and special about one person adorning / decorating another person.
