Style Swap with Maverick Malone

I had the chance to ask the talented and amazing Maverick Malone some questions. She has a brilliant style and designs some really cool dresses.

Where do you live, and what do you do?
Right now I'm living in Portland, Maine. I do all different things...

Why did you decide to start a blog?
I start a lot of different projects and I like to do things that challenge me. I was probably inspired by other blogs that I read, and blogging was a way for me to teach myself about graphic design, html coding, photography, and other things.

Tell us a bit about your dresses and the background behind them.
I started making dresses when I was in california and studying fashion design, about 6 months ago. I love to create things that are beautiful but also fun and practical. I think I might start making tees again, though, I love tees. I'm not sure, I'm at a point in my life where I just want to explore everything before I decide to settle.

What are your favourite places to shop?
My favorite place to shop is Goodwill. Then various thrift and vintage stores.

How would you define your personal style?
Honestly I would describe my style as just "normal", haha, but I guess that doesn't make sense. I've been getting comments on my blog that my style is either rocker, punk and peculiar. To me I dress normal, so I can't classify my style.

What are your hobbies/how do you like to relax?
I blog a lot, I love to read blogs because I'm often inspired by them. Lately I've been playing Mario Kart. I like to read, sew, make patterns, and make soap.

(This soap is designed by Maverick and more of her soaps can be found on her blog.)

What is something unique to you?

Who is your biggest role model/inspiration?
I don't really have one, I'm inspired and influenced a tiny bit from many different things.

What are your future plans?
I'd like to continue with my blog and pursue fashion a bit more. I plan on starting a soap/body care business in the next few weeks and my show will be starting up again in a few weeks, too!

Thanks Mavi!
